Centennial Celebration

Guys, where do I start?

How did I get here? How on earth did the crummy little Blogger site with glitchy GIF backgrounds and no regard for punctuation become a place that…well, you know, doesn’t suck?

If you haven’t figured it out (I don’t blame you if you haven’t), this is my 100th post here on this site.

First of all, I don’t know why I’m getting sentimental in the odd way that I do. After all, I don’t get very sentimental even on my blogiversary. But I suppose if I have to be sentimental, at least I’m being sentimental at a time that could be construed as appropriate.

I’ve been doing the bare minimum here on TAGS.

Oh, all right, fine, I’ve been doing way below the bare minimum. To a rather disgraceful degree (anyone notice that my blogiversary countdown is still up? heh…).

For a while I was desperately worried I was growing out of dolls, something I swore I would never do. Why would I? But I had a total lack of motivation coupled with a busy schedule, and that equaled no posts and no inspiration.

But the thing about doll blogging is, it changes as you get older (listen up, young doll bloggers, and hear the words of the wise yet insane). When I started this blog at 11, it was all about the stories and personalities my dolls had. It was wild and crazy and overdone. All my dolls were totally nuts and did nutty things.

Then I learned how to actually use my camera, and it gradually and subtly shifted to a more photographic focus. I improved my sewing, and added that to the mix.

I also went through a weird, mopey, dark phase in which I posted pictures of my dolls and song lyrics. We’re not going to talk about that, because it was seriously stupid.

And then there was a long period of no posts. In that time, I lost the focus of this blog. I don’t know where my focus lies anymore.

But never fear, because it’s summer, so I’m slowly but surely catching up on the 1,000 emails and comments I missed and working in new blog posts.

Things may be a little different, and that’s okay. Because if it wasn’t, we’d have issues.

Thanks for sticking around for 100 posts!

    1. I don’t mean to be mean, but I’m pretty sure Natalie hates being called ‘Nat’. It’s not a very flattering nickname, and anyway, if she wanted people to call her that, she’d have it as her username or something. Just saying!

  1. Congrats on this being your 100th post. I looked back on some of my earlier writing and there was ZERO punctuation and the story made no sense. The character development was pretty good though. Well kinda. I LOVE your blog (even the nutty parts).

  2. Congratulations on your one hundredth post, that’s such a huge achievement! I’ve really enjoyed your blog through all of these posts. Also, I love the third picture of your doll playing with her mini Tenney!
